Desmond

On Tuesday February 3rd 2009 instead of going to the Marriott i went for the Job Shadow program at the Desmond hotel on Wolf rd. There I was assigned a spot in the Kitchen, and was sent to the Purchasing department. Where Dave Hulett showed me his job. He gave me a tour of the Kitchen, and showed me how the purchasing department works. I witnessed a Supplier from Sysco try and convince them to buy his product, and experienced a shipment of food come in from Antonucci foods. Then I had delicious Pizza and salad and got mad free stuff. It was definitely a fun day.

1st time at the marriot

This Tuesday was my first time at the marriot. I was on laundry duty. The Laundry room was giant, with turbine like washing machines and dryers. I helped a woman named benetta with the Ironing machine. Which was as tall as me and as wide as 20 of me. The machines was very warm which was perfect for the cold weather outside. Also the whole room smelled delicious, like hotel sheets. To Use the machine you would put the sheets on a conveyorbelt kind of thing, and it would go into the machine get ironed and then come out. We would fold it manually or the machines would fold it. The people i was working with were nice and welcolming and the woman i worked with got me some fruit punch to drink. The experience was fun.

The Longfellows Hotel in Saratoga

I WEnt to the Longfellows for my sisters wedding in 2005. IT was a very nice place with a replica of an outside courtyard inside. They had a open bar that wasn't just alcoholic drinks, I was able to get sodas being that i was 14 years old. Which is cool because they're thinking of all of their customers and not just one select group. The food was delicious and there was great service. They had a 5 foot deep pond inside the "courtyard" with a walkway over it which was different. The hotel beds were confortable and the rooms were big enough for me and my family. I have no idea of how it cost, but I would reccomend the place for any kinda of special event.
